Jehovah still intervenes in human affairs. He's just been more subtle.
Can you name the interventions? Subtle. .REALLY? You mean non-existent.
the bible is full of stories of god intervening on behalf of those that had trust and faith in him.
he rescues his people from various battles, trials and challenges from their enemies.
the rescued individuals or communities are quick to offer praise and gratitude to god for his mighty acts on their behalf.. the story of the israelites’ exodus from egypt and the parting of the red sea is a prime example of god’s powerful deliverance in the bible.

In the battle between David and Goliath, God delivers David against insurmountable odds.
God saves Daniel from the hungry lions.
The Battle of Jericho, led by Joshua, faced an impenetrable city with towering walls. By marching around the city for seven days and blowing trumpets at God’s command, the walls crumbled before them.
After all these ( supposedly) stories of God intervening in the Old and New Testament, the interventions mysteriously stop. God doesn't stop World War 1 & 2, doesn't stop 9-11, famine, droughts, animal extinctions, over population, environmental issues and on and on.....
If God did intervene in human affairs 2000 years ago, why did they stop?
Maybe the Bible is truly a fabrication of stories that never happened!
perhaps we could post the pictures the wt have presented in their literature that depict their version of paradise here for comment/discussion:.

do they really exist?.
Where is OSHA in this depiction of deck building in the NEW SYSTEM?
I noticed that they are wearing hardhats, but where are the safety straps?
If they fall, could they suffer a broken leg? If they cut themselves and bleed, would they to be taken to a hospital? Can they suffer a concussion if they fell or got hit in the head with a 2x4? Can they fall to their death? Who would be the emergency room doctors? Where would they go for their training? Would the doctors work 80 hour weeks? Can Doctors get fired for bad medical care and advice?

How did the African brother and a brother living around Noah's day or even before, come out of their tombs with pressed cloths, that have no wrinkles or tears? Why are they even wearing old clothes? Isn't there a new clothing store in the New System to give these two resurrected brothers new slacks and shirts, so they don't stand out? What language is being spoken by the instructor that the 2 newly resurrected brothers understand?

Why is Jubusiah resurrected in ancient clothing? What language is the Bible he is studying in? Why does the clean shaven brother have a tablet and not a written Bible? When is the ancient resurrected brother getting new and modern clothing? Why is one clean shaven and not the other? How did this brother get a mansion on the lake? Where does the newly resurrected brother live and how did he arrive at his destination? What's the point of a Bible study?
the last assembly i attended was over 10 years ago.
the monotone speakers, boring talks, uncomfortable seats, long prayers and nodding off after the lunch break did me in.
i survived the morning sessions, but the afternoon sessions were brutal.
A member of the GB was present and he actually used the phrase 'at lunchtime I walked among you all...'
I remember all the Bethel speakers from New York would sit in air-conditioned lounges and had attendants walk them to the covered podium with an umbrella, while we lowlifes would sit in the blazing sun in the middle of July, suffering heat stroke.
For many years, we attended Hawthorne Race Track in Cicero, Illinois. It was a race track for horses. They had horse stalls nearby that smelled from horse manure all day long. Nothing like being outdoors, in the middle of July, in a suit and tie, smelling horse manure all day long.

TonusOH:
I had a similar experience as yours. This was considered our summer vacation.
Our congregation was assigned Milwaukee County Stadium for our 1975 four day summer convention. Our congregation was 90 miles away from Milwaukee, located on the north side of Chicago.
Some congregation members stayed at Milwaukee hotels for the four day convention. Since my parents and some congregation members were either too cheap/ or didn't have the means to pay for hotels and meals, they decided to charter a bus to Milwaukee for the four days. The chartered bus picked us up at 7.a.m. every morning at our Chicago Kingdom Hall. It was a 2 hour drive to Milwaukee. The starting time for the 4 day Assembly was at 9:45 a.m. .
Since the bus arrived around 9 a.m. each morning in Milwaukee, all seats that were shaded/partly shaded or had a cover from the blazing sun in the middle of July were all taken. We had no choice but to sit on the outfield seats ( which were in full sun, all day long). Imagine sitting in the blazing sun all day long with a jacket/ tie or mothers having to take care of small children in the oppressive heat. Talk about sunstroke!
The convention meetings ended around 5 p.m. We would get back on the chartered bus around 6 p.m. and drove back to Chicago for another 2 hour drive. It would be around 8:30 p.m. each night that we would arrive back home. We ate dinner around 8:30 p.m., went to bed, and did the same routine for the next 3 days.

My breaking point would be the first time I needed to use the ladies room- usually within the first hour or so. They were always stinky with taped up mirrors. (Can't have those vain sisters touching up their make-up or hair.)

I wouldn't last thru a one day assembly today. What day would be your breaking point?

Drop off your key, Lee, they are out in front of the French Market in Wheaton, every Saturday.
What time are they cart witnessing at the French Market in Wheaton?
The video showing the Downers Grove cart witnessing looks like early morning, where not even one person is walking around. If the sisters really wanted success in the cart witnessing work, they would show up at noon, not at 7:00 a.m.
Years ago, I drove by Midway Airport in Chicago on a Saturday morning. I watched two male witnesses walking on the sidewalks holding Watchtower magazines in their hands. The airport is 4 square miles. Not one person ever walks on the sidewalks except those who wait for the buses on 63rd.& Cicero.
